Program Dates -The program begins May 27 and ends August 1, 2008.

Housing and Stipend –Successful applicants will receive stipends of $4,000 plus travel expenses (up to $500). Housing will be provided by the program for the students to live together on campus.

Student/Faculty Interaction – During the first two weeks of the program, faculty will give introductory talks to bring the students to speed with existing research. Throughout the summer, students will participate in weekly lunchtime gatherings with a faculty mentor.

Social Program – An active social and recreational program is part of the REU experience. It includes picnics, workshops and field trips. Students are free to explore the New York City as well as the New Jersey Shore during weekends through easy public transportation available right from NJIT campus.
