ASME competed in the National Student Design Contest

NJIT ASME competed in the National Student Design Contest at the 2009 ASME Student Professional Development Conference for District A held at Tuffs University in Massachusetts, where ME Junior Mike Lowery took Third Place. The Design involved the prototype development of a radio controlled robot inspired by the NASA Mars Rover. Mike competed against seventeen entries from some of the most prestigious institutions in the Northeast.  He was presented with a plaque, certificate and a check. Also competing for NJIT were the teams of Mark Monteforte, Philip Vento, Tai Duong and Anand Najaraj. In his role as NJIT ASME faculty advisor Professor Harry Kountouras accompanied the group and noted that our ME students represented NJIT with pride, professionalism and sportsmanship.
